I voted today for tomorrow.

I woke this morning with a feeling of hope. I hope because I believe that today is the first day of Tomorrow Land, where freedom, truth and justice reigns supreme. Why do I think this is the first day? Because the math is all there to put Bernie Sanders at the top of the nomination pile and today is the day it will happen.

So I took a shower and brushed my teeth,  and  I stepped out into the remaining drizzle of the departing overnight storm.  I made my way to the local education building, where I voted for Mr. Sanders and it felt great.

I wasn't voting for Bernie out of anger at the Democrats and the media for ginning up a bunch of last minute hoopla for Uncle Joe. I wasn't voting for Bernie to get back after suffering for 3 plus years under a corrupt Trump administration. And I wasn't voting for Bernie because I want to throw my vote away on a self-described socialist who will likely run into as much head wind as Obama did for his two terms. I am voting for Bernie because he is the Grandfather of a movement to make America into a country I can be proud of again.

Bernie may not get us all Universal Health Care, Student Loan Forgiveness or substantive tax reform of the Billionaire class when he gets elected. It'd be great if he did, but I may have to move to one of the dozen of other countries who get those benefits, while Americans still figure out that we are so woefully behind the times. But what he will do, is show the world that a movement of people, who fight to take back a government that is supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people, can win. He will give us all hope again that the system is not entirely broken and corrupted. A win from Bernie will show us that all is not lost and that the two parties, who are hell bent and determined to kill the American dream, don't hold all the cards.

I am not saying Bernie is the savior. But what he is, despite his age and his Brooklyn accent and his Jewish faith, Bernie is the catalyst. Bernie is the spark that will wake up this country to see that we are a pale imitation of what we once were, but may be again someday. Because if the last four years have taught us anything, Bernie isn't fighting to win a presidency, he is fighting to save a nation.

So I live in North Carolina and I am super Tuesday Voter. And I voted today. Did you?
